Stanley were gutted after a 90th minute wonder goal denied them victory at in-form Mansfield Town in an eight goal thriller.
Billy Kee scored twice – one a penalty – Omar Beckles started the proceedings with Shay McCartan also firing home as Stanley looked to chalk up a second win in three league games.
Despite going 2-0 and 3-1 ahead, promotion-chasing Mansfield kept coming back and both sides also hit the woodwork in an entertaining game where Stanley had to settle for a point.
The Reds opened the scoring on five minutes when a Sean McConville free kick wasn’t cleared and the ball fell to Beckles in the area who had plenty of time to fire home his second goal of the season.
The Reds would have felt they should have had a second on 20 minutes when, from a McConville corner, the ball landed at the feet of Matty Pearson in the six yard box but, with the keeper stranded, he blazed over the bar.
However the second came on 29 minutes when a high ball into the box was flicked on by Kee and it fell to McCartan who forced home his second goal of the campaign.
Mansfield, unbeaten in eight league games, got one back two minutes later when Rhys Bennett bundled the ball in at the far post from a corner – although Stanley keeper Marek Rodak thought he had stopped it but the assistant said the ball had crossed the line.
Stanley restored their two-goal cushion on 43 minutes when defender Bennett misjudged a ball on the left wing, Kee pounced and spectacularly hooked it over stranded keeper Jake Kean from around 20 yards.
Mansfield though came straight back again and, from a Joel Byrom free kick in injury time, Hayden White leapt highest to make it 2-3 and then it needed a superbsave from Rodak to keep out Alex MacDonald to maintain Stanley’s lead at the break.
Stanley were denied a fourth by the woodwork after the interval when a looping header by Pearson caught out stopper Kean and hit the angle of the post and crossbar. The ball bounced back into the area and Pearson was there again but headed over the bar.
And it was 3-3 on 63 minutes when Seamus Conneely was judged to have brought down Krystian Pearce in the area and Shaquile Coulthirst fired home the spot kick.
But three minutes later Kee was bundled over in the area and the striker dusted himself down to fire home his penalty to put Stanley back ahead and celebrate his 11th goal of the season.
Mansfield were almost level on 70 minutes when sub CJ Hamilton got the ball in the area but rifled it against the post.
And, eight minutes later, Stanley were denied by the woodwork when McConville’s free kick was turned onto the post by Kean.
However agonisingly for the Reds Mansfield levelled on 90 minutes when sub Yoann Arquin got the ball 25 yards out, it bounced once and he belted it into the net.
