Accrington Stanley Community Trust have teamed up with The Premier League to offer FREE reading books to local primary schools.

The Premier League announced on World Book Day that 30,000 books would be provided at no cost, to 2,000 primary schools across England and Wales. As part of this 5 of our local primary schools received their book box over the last couple of weeks, presented in sessions and assemblies by Winstanley and Accrington Stanley players.

The five lucky schools receiving the books are Spring Hill Primary, St Peter & St Pauls, St John’s Great Harwood, St Mary’s Oswaldtwistle and Brookside Primary Clitheroe.

There was some great titles in the box including ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ & ‘Frankies magic Football’ written by Frank lampard. The boxes also included some Premier League stickers and bookmarks for those that read the books!

St Mary’s Primary School in Oswaldtwistle received a surprise visit from Stanley’s Jack Burgess who presented the books to the school.
