On loan winger Tariqe Fosu hopes that a double award nomination can be just the start of a successful week for Stanley.
The Reading youngster is in the running for the PFA Fans Player of the Month for April and this morning found out he’s also nominated for the Skybet Player of the Month award.
Three goals and two assists in April have put the 20-year-old in the frame for both, now he wants his good form to continue in Saturday’s crucial promotion clash with Stevenage.
“I’m over the moon to get the nominations,” he said. “I wouldn’t be in the position to be nominated without the team because they’ve been great since I came in, as has the manager and the fans.
“It’s been easy for me to settle in and I think that has been the most important thing for me. The lads have been great.
“I knew it would be hard to get into the team when I came in but I just thought I’d get my head down and every time I got a chance try to prove myself. It’s gone my way so far so I’m delighted.
“It’s helped that the team has been doing so well. There are positive vibes around the ground, the team play great football and that’s helped too as it suits me.
“It’s a crazy week. It’s probably going to be one of the most important games I’ll play in my life this weekend so I’m looking forward to it. I’m a bit speechless really.”
The winner of the Skybet Player of the Month will be announced later this week, with John Coleman also nominated for the Manager of the Month.
