Frazer Shaw has had his contract at Stanley terminated by mutual consent.

The left back signed for the Reds in the summer, following a spell at Leyton Orient last season. Chances have been limited for the 21-year-old and he has decided to seek opportunities elsewhere.

“He is a good player, a good lad, but he found it difficult to settle being a southern lad based up north away from his family,” said John Coleman.

“He isn’t playing and that makes it doubly hard. He has a choice of either hanging around, not playing, being unsettled and waiting for his opportunity, or going and trying to take his opportunity elsewhere and that’s what he has decided to do.

“There is no animosity, it was all done on the best of terms and I hope he goes elsewhere and fulfils the potential I know he has.”

Everyone at Stanley wishes him good luck in the future.
