Children on Stanley’s Community Trust soccer school and activity week enjoyed a surprise visit from the first team squad.
The players had a go at the inflatable target before the children got the chance to ask them questions about what it’s like to be a footballer. They also got the opportunity to get their pictures taken with the players.
Stanley striker and last season’s leading goalscorer Billy Kee said: “It’s great for us as players to get involved in the local community and get the youngsters excited about Accrington Stanley.
“Some of the kids showed off their skills and I’m sure there are some future stars to look out for.”
The Community Trust’s Head of Sport Lee Walsh said: ‘”Visits like this are so exciting for the children who love to meet the players and interact with them.
“We work hard to make Accrington Stanley more visible in the community and events like this are a great way of doing so, hopefully some of the young children will be inspired.”
The Community Trust’s holiday courses have been running through out the summer holidays and will do so again during the October half-term. Places can be booked in advance by going to www.stanleytrust.co.uk or call 01254 304071 for more information.
