Stanley have completed the loan signing of Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sean Clare.

The 20-year-old will stay at the Wham Stadium until the end of the season.

Londoner Clare is a product of the Nike Academy and his success with them led to him winning a deal with the Owls.

He spent time on loan at Bury last season, where he made his Football League debut.

“I’m really excited about this new challenge,” he said. “This is the next step for me in my career. Coming somewhere like here is what I need in order to improve and show what I can do.

“I’m looking forward to joining the team, helping them win games and doing as well as I can in my time with the club.”

Stanley manager John Coleman is happy to have Clare on board.

“He’s an exciting young player,” said Coleman. “We’re pleased to have been able to bring him in and he adds to the attacking options in our squad.”

The versatile attacking midfielder goes into the squad for tomorrow’s game with Carlisle subject to EFL ratification.
