Stanley’s Annual Golf Day is another success
Last week saw the club’s inaugural ASFC Golf Day at Accrington Golf Club with fans, players and sponsors taking part in what was a great day out with some superb weather.
Teams of 3 plus an ASFC player took part in the 18-hole competition. In glorious sunshine, a 1pm start took place following team registration and soup and sandwiches. The event finished with pie, chips and peas at the 19th hole!
Our very own Official Accrington Stanley Supporters Club were overall winners of the team event with Wavin worthy runners-up.
The OASSC ended on 98 points along with Wavin on 98 points but OASSC won the event on count back.
Winner of the longest drive went to Tom Biggins, pipping Liam Nolan by around 3 foot.
Rob Doherty collected the prize for nearest to pin.
Sean McConville with 39 points won a signed Ernie Els montage as the best ASFC score.
Peter Leatham, Official Stanley Supporters Club said, “We all had a great day, superbly hosted by Accrington Golf Club and was thoroughly enjoyed by all that took part. We must especially thank the players for giving up their spare time and joining in with the action. Accrington Golf Club were great hosts and we would definitely look to go back again, bigger and better, next year.”
Daniel Bowerbank, Commercial Manager added, “It is always great to put on additional events with the OASSC throughout the season and we would like to thank the businesses who took the time to play in the ASFC Golf Day. The feedback received from the event has been extremely positive again and the standard of golf and competition was very high. We will be looking to continue to add to our events calendar throughout the season so please keep looking at the ASFC website for new events and features.”
