John Coleman refused to be downbeat after his side lost to Yeovil in the FA Cup second round replay.
Late goals from Simon Gillett and Kieffer Moore secured the victory but it was agony for Stanley after Shay McCartan hit the underside of the crossbar and Matt Crooks missed the follow-up.
It means Yeovil will now face Manchester United in the third round on January 4th while Stanley will travel to Exeter the day before in League Two action.
“I am disappointed but not disheartened,” said Coleman. “We gave our best shot but unfortunately someone had to lose.
“It felt like a cup final and both teams were edgy and I think the way the game got closed down it suited them more than it suited us. It got stretched in second half and we opened the up a few times but it wasn’t to be our day.”
